Prepare and restore a core home archive
Prepare a bounded, readable core archive and restore it into an empty household you own.
How to use it
- As the household owner, open Home Data Export and choose Prepare core archive. Review the snapshot counts and exclusions. The standard CSV export remains available separately.
- Select the original files to include and download the core recovery archive. Up to 300 records per section, 1,000 total with up to 1.8 MB of record text, 50 files and 6 MiB of original content are supported. Unselected originals are not restored.
- Optionally select Password-protect this archive, enter and repeat a unique password of at least 12 characters, and keep it separately. Encryption and unlocking happen in your browser; the password cannot be recovered. Without protection, originals are readable base64. Store either copy securely. The archive includes inventory, generic systems, locations, home-history events and their document roles, appliance profiles, warranty coverage, household expenses with actual-versus-estimate state, project plans/tasks, maintenance and document relationships. Restored profiles leave monitoring and email off. It excludes account access, specialist workspaces, recall history, project invoices/payments/change orders, project expenses and historical versions.
- Select an empty household you own, open Export and choose Review a core recovery archive. If protected, unlock the file locally with its archive password. File checksums and linked-record identities are checked before confirmation. Checksums do not authenticate the sender.
- Confirm the destination and restore. New IDs preserve supported relationships; the record transaction rolls back on failure. Existing plan limits still apply. Retry the same archive after a lost response; its receipt prevents duplicate records.
- Review recovered care dates and documents. This is a core record copy, not account ownership transfer or a full household backup. Failed attempts can retain encrypted staged files for safe retry; contact support if an attempt remains blocked.
Available with core home records on all plans. Record, storage and processing allowances apply; household roles determine editing access.
